My Review: I never like to give too much away in a review so I won’t say much more about the story line than the Publisher’s summary does above. This was an intense audiobook!

Claire Waters might be a psychiatrist but she has some big skeletons in her closet that she’s never dealt with. That might be what makes her such a great shrink… Until Todd Quimby shows up anyways. Add in a few more skeletons from NYPD Detective Nick Lawler after he shows up with his career ending dilemma and his honor on the line.

Once again, we see a girl get caught up with too much police work instead of minding her own damn business. And once again the girl’s life is on the line. I say “once again” because this seems to happen in a lot of the books I’ve listened to lately. I’m not upset about it, but it seems like a reoccurring story line.

This was a great audiobook with memorable characters and a vivid story. Just a fair warning, the last hour is INTENSE! You won’t want to turn this one off!

Narrator Review: Bernadette Dunne’s narration took me by surprise. When I first turned on my iPod I was trying to figure out her voice… Was it supposed to sound raspy? Sexy? Old? I couldn’t pin it down. After the first two chapters, it fit perfectly with Baer and Greene’s writing. I’m not sure what it was, but something “clicked” and it all fit together nicely. Dunne did a great job of pacing this audiobook along nicely and keeping me intrigued for nine hours.
