My review: Janet Evanovich has done it again! I’m madly in love with the Stephanie Plum series and just finished this audiobook.

Bounty Hunter Stephanie Plum is on the case of tracking down Maxine, a waitress who stole her ex-boyfriend’s car and jumped bond. Stephanie hits the ground running with her normal sidekick, Lula. Lula, a 200-lb black woman, has turned her life around after being a prostitute and is now filing papers at the bond office. She loves the excitement of bounty hunting with Stephanie and usually invites herself along for the ride.

As usual, Stephanie finds drama along the way to capturing her bond jumper. She meets a transvestite named Sally Sweet and his roommate Sugar. Sally is a puzzle busting machine and manages to help Stephanie decode Maxine’s notes and lead them in the right direction. But of course, Sally insists on being a part of the take-down!

And last but not least, Joe Morelli. *Sigh* He may be my new fictional love. Forget about that long-haired romantic dude on the cover of romance novels, I like a man with a gun! Morelli steps up to the plate again and helps Stephanie when she gets in too deep and finally, finally… a steamy bedroom scene between him and Stephanie!

I spent more than half of the time listening to this audiobook smiling or laughing. The comedy is amazing and Evanovich has yet to disappoint me. I love her style of writing. She has the perfect mix of comedy and suspense. She’s very detailed in some of the descriptions but doesn’t overdo it. It’s a nice median.

Narrator Review: C.J. Critt was great, once again. Even though I’ve heard raving reviews of Lorelei King’s narrations of future books, I’m still very happy with Critt’s performance. She drags me into the story really fast and keeps me hanging on through the twists, turns and laughs. I’m not sure I could manage to narrate this book without being doubled over with laughter.
