My Review: Love in a Nutshell is a brand new release for Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly. This audiobook hit the market this morning and I was chomping on the bit to click buy and download. I see the names Janet Evanovich and Lorelei King and I’m game!
Love in a Nutshell is all about Kate Appleton and her longing to find a good job and fix up her family’s former summer house. She’s taken on the money pit and has fallen behind on the payments and repairs. She’s got Junior, a local handyman that totes around a mysterious blue cooler and she’s got her attitude.
She’s been fired from her job for serving bad booze and busts into Matt Culhane’s brewery to confront him. Not only is he taken aback by her nice looks, she’s got spunk as she demands that he owes her a job since he caused her to lose her last by manufacturing the bad beer. Turns out, she’s at the right place at the right time.
Kate begins to work at the brewery as a floater, going between jobs and locations in the building to try to sniff out someone that Matt supposes is sabotaging his company. He’s young, successful and handsome… but someone is trying to change all that.
This is a very fast moving novel with equal amounts of chuckles and drama. The chemistry between Kate and Matt is obvious and even though I knew where their relationship was going, I couldn’t wait for it to happen.
Narrator Review: Love in a Nutshell is just another notch in Lorelei King’s belt of greatness. In this audiobook, she provides great narration of the characters including Chuck the dog. Chuck the dog’s loud barks don’t stop King a bit and she continues to flow seamlessly between characters.
